Privacy Policy
Hems Technologies, LLC
Effective Date: January 1st, 2026
Hems Technologies, LLC (“Hems,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) develops and publishes mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our Services.
Some Hems apps offer accounts and store user data; other apps do not require accounts and may collect little or no personal information beyond what is necessary to operate. Data practices can vary by app and feature. Where required, we provide app-specific notices, permissions prompts, and disclosures (including in-app settings and app store disclosures). If an app-specific notice conflicts with this Privacy Policy for that Service, the app-specific notice will control for that Service.
For purposes of EU/UK data protection law, Hems Technologies, LLC is the “controller” of personal data described in this policy unless otherwise stated.
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on the Service you use, the features you enable, and how you interact with the Service.
Account and profile information (only for apps that offer accounts)
We may collect information you provide when you create or manage an account, such as your name or username, email address, password (stored in hashed form where applicable), authentication tokens, and account preferences. Some Services may support sign-in via third-party identity providers (e.g., Apple, Google). In those cases, we receive limited account identifiers necessary to authenticate you.
User content and inputs (feature-dependent)
We may collect content you submit within a Service, such as notes, settings, uploads, messages, or other information you choose to provide. If a Service supports social or community features, content you post may be visible to others as described in the app.
Customer support and communications
If you contact us, we may collect your contact information and the contents of your message, including attachments, diagnostic logs, and information you provide to help resolve an issue.
Payment and purchase information (feature-dependent)
If a Service offers subscriptions or in-app purchases, payments are processed by third-party payment providers (e.g., Apple, Google). We typically receive purchase confirmations, subscription status, and transaction metadata (e.g., product ID, renewal status), but we do not receive full payment card details.
Device, app, and network information (collected automatically)
Depending on the Service, we may collect device identifiers and technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, IP address, crash logs, performance data, and diagnostic information.
Usage information (collected automatically)
Depending on the Service, we may collect information about how you use the Service, such as feature interactions, screens viewed, session duration, and in-app actions.
Location information (feature-dependent)
We may infer approximate location from IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation unless a Service explicitly requests it and you grant permission.
Advertising and analytics identifiers (feature-dependent)
If a Service uses advertising or analytics, we and/or our partners may collect identifiers such as mobile advertising IDs, device identifiers, and information about ad impressions, clicks, and attribution, subject to your device settings and consents where required.
Sensitive data
We do not intentionally collect “sensitive” personal information (as defined by applicable laws) unless you choose to provide it and it is necessary for a specific feature. Please do not provide sensitive information through the Services unless the feature explicitly requests it.
Children’s data
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
Providing and operating the Services
To create and manage accounts (where available), authenticate users, provide core functionality, process preferences, and enable requested features.
Improving and developing the Services
To understand how the Services are used, troubleshoot issues, improve performance, develop new features, and enhance user experience.
Security, integrity, and fraud prevention

Customer support and communications
To respond to inquiries, provide support, send service-related messages, and communicate updates, security alerts, and administrative notices.
Payments and subscriptions
To enable purchases and subscriptions (where applicable), verify purchase status, and provide access to paid features.
Analytics
To measure and analyze performance and usage patterns (where applicable), including crash reporting and diagnostics.
Advertising (where applicable)
To display ads and measure ad performance. Depending on the app and your settings/consent, ads may be contextual or personalized.
Legal compliance
To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal process, and to exercise or defend legal claims.
Legal Bases for Processing (EU/UK)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:

You may withdraw consent at any time through in-app settings (if available) or device settings, without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
Legal obligation
Processing necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our Services may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies (particularly on websites and in apps that use analytics/ads) to operate, remember preferences, measure performance, and deliver or measure advertising. Where required by law (e.g., EU/UK), we will request consent for non-essential technologies.
How We Share Information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
Service providers
We share information with vendors that help us operate the Services, such as hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support tools, and infrastructure providers. These providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to us and are subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
Advertising partners (where applicable)
If an app displays ads, advertising partners may collect and receive information (such as advertising identifiers and event data) to provide and measure ads, subject to your settings and consents where required.
Payment processors (where applicable)
Purchases are processed by third-party platforms (e.g., Apple, Google). We may receive purchase status and related metadata necessary to provide access to paid features.
Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hems, our users, or others.
With your direction
We may share information at your request or with your consent.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, under certain U.S. state privacy laws, some disclosures to advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered “selling” or “sharing” even if no money is exchanged.
Targeted Advertising and Your Choices (U.S. States, EU/UK)
Depending on the Service, you may be able to control targeted advertising:
In-app controls
Where applicable, we provide settings to limit or opt out of targeted advertising or certain analytics.
Device controls
You can limit ad tracking or reset advertising identifiers using your device settings (e.g., iOS privacy and advertising settings; Android ad settings).
Opt-out rights (U.S. state laws)
Residents of certain states may have the right to opt out of targeted advertising and certain “sales” or “sharing” of personal information as defined by law. See “Your Privacy Rights” below.
Consent (EU/UK)
Where required, we rely on your consent for personalized advertising and certain analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time through available settings.
Account Management and Deletion
If a Service offers accounts, you can typically access, update, or delete your account through in-app settings. If an app does not provide self-service account deletion, you can request deletion by contacting us at the email listed below. We may retain certain information as required or permitted by law (for example, to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, maintain security, or resolve disputes).
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by app and data type. We may retain aggregated or de-identified data for longer periods.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Data Transfers (EU/UK)
If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required by EU/UK law, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and other lawful transfer mechanisms.
